Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the prevalence of mental illness in the older population and co-existing conditions that can impact the mental health of an older person.
  • Understand ethnic and cultural effects on mental health.
  • Discuss the leading mental health concerns  in older adults (e.g., anxiety, memory impairment, mood disorders, and addictions).
  • Discuss resources and referrals for older adults with mental health concerns.
  • Discuss factors that promote mental health in the aging adult.
