All campus parking is reserved to College registered autos only. Short-term visitor parking is available in the Rouzer lot. Extended temporary parking permits are available through the DoCS. Resident first year students may not park a car on campus unless they have received prior authorization from the DoCS. Parking rules are distributed at the time of registration, and are available at all times upon request. Violation amounts are increased incrementally based upon previous citations issued to the student. Appeals must be filed with the Department within 10 days of issuance of the citation.
Parking Registration Application Form
The Department of Campus Safety (DoCS) allows anyone receiving a parking violation to contest the violation if there are grounds for an appeal. Appeals must be submitted online within 10 days of receipt of ticket. Please click on the link on the right that says Parking Appeal. A link to the parking regulations page is provided for you convenience. You will need information from the ticket to fill out the form. The form must be filled out completly to be valid.
The appeal will be submitted to the volunteer parking appeals committee which is made up of three student peers and one staff member. The decision of the parking appeals committee is final. Tickets previously billed will be removed from your account with a successful appeal.
An appeals process is established to provide a forum for presenting evidence of enforcement errors or extreme extenuating circumstances. Appeals presenting and/or properly documenting such situations may be accepted. Appeals will not be accepted when what is presented simply seeks exemption/exclusion from the parking regulations.
Additionally, when filling out the online appeal you should:
- Keep it brief and to the point
- Address the issue of your citation. Do not bring up any tangential matters or other citations.
- Avoid the temptation to editorialize. We are aware that convenient parking is scarce.
- Familiarize yourself with the parking regulations – They are available at the link on the right.
-
Submit your appeal on time – within 10 days of the date of citation.
