Campus Route Changes Effect Returning Students Move-In Weekend
Welcome back to McDaniel College! Please thoroughly read the following information regarding procedures and traffic instructions for upperclass residential students.
- The Ravens summer camp will be hosting its last open practice on Saturday 8/22/09.
- The morning session will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the afternoon session will begin at 2:00 p.m.
- Crowds have exceeded 11,000 in number this summer and during weekends, they typically arrive 90 minutes before the start of a practice.
- There will be NO STUDENT PARKING available in the GILL or TOWER lots and limited parking in the North Village lot until Sunday afternoon.
- The City has agreed to allow the College side of PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE to be designated an UNLOADING area between 199 and 149 Pa. Ave. This unloading area will be available to students for a maximum of one hour. After that students will need to relocate their autos to available campus parking spots.
- DO NOT doublepark along Pa. Ave.
- Additionally, there may be a temporary unloading area established adjacent to 177 Pa. Ave.
- Parking Attendants and Campus Safety Officers will located at the main campus entrances and Pa. Ave. Please be prepared to show student identification if your vehicle does not have a College parking permit.
- The section of Stadium Drive between the soccer field and the Gill Center will be closed.
- Students moving into ANW should enter at Winslow entrance from West Main.
- Students moving into McDANIEL HALL should enter at WMC Alumni Hall entrance from West Main.
- Students moving into BLANCHE WARD Hall should enter at WMC Alumni Hall entrance from West Main or at Levine Hall entrance from West Main.
- Students moving into GARDEN Apartments, or WHITEFORD HALL should enter the campus from Pennsylvania Ave across from Monroe St.
- Students moving into DANIEL McLEA and ROUZER HALLS should enter the campus from Pennsylvania Ave at Hersh Ave.
- If you are moving into Blanche Ward or McDaniel Halls, please remember to keep the roadways and fire lanes clear.
- If you park your car in an employee lot, please remember to relocate your car prior to Monday morning, as these lots are reserved for faculty and staff parking.
