McDaniel College volunteers are crucial to the success of the College and getting involved in a wide variety of opportunities, including serving as a career services mentor, can make a difference. Your alumni volunteer expertise is vital, whether you just graduated last year, now heading into retirement, or just want to be a part of the overall campus event experience.

McDaniel Alumni Association Awards

Participate by placing any individual alumus/a in nomination by filling out the Awards Nomination Form and forwarding it to the Office of Alumni Relations.The Alumni Association awards program honors individuals who personify the College’s tradition of excellence. Through outstanding achievements and contributions, these individuals bring honor to themselves and to McDaniel College.

Refer a Prospective Student to McDaniel

Encourage prospective students to apply to McDaniel College and have their application fee waived by scheduling an official visit with the Admissions staff prior to the time of application. An official visit includes Summer Info Day, Fall Open Houses, Saturday Information Sessions and Weekday Interviews.

Homecoming and Reunion Weekends, Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame

On-campus events allow time for reconnecting to the college, the campus and our students.  You can play a vital role in this reconnection by joining us to help plan reunion activities on Homecoming and Reunion Weekends.  On Homecoming, we celebrate reunions of Greek organizations, athletic teams – any group that wants to get together!  Reunion Weekend allows time for classes to come together and enjoy a full weekend of activities.  The Alumni Office handles all logistics including catering and space reservation.  Reunion volunteers help by encouraging their friends and classmates to return to campus by making personal contacts to spread the word about the reunions.

The Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame is designed to honor former athletes who performed outstandingly as an undergraduate and who have contributed to society since leaving the College.  More than 180 individuals have been inducted into the Hall of Fame and a permanent display is located on-campus in Klitzberg Pavilion, Gill Center that shares their names and achievements.  You can nominate an individual for induction by visiting:  http://www.mcdaniel.edu/alumni/awards/alumawardform.cfm

Annual Fund Leadership Gifts

Becoming an active member in the Founders Society brings special privileges and represents the mainspring of financial support for the College’s educational mission.  Members of the Founders Society provide annual gifts totaling $1000 or more and their contributions represent approximately 80% of all Annual Fund dollars.  These gifts provide direct support for students through facilities upkeep, scholarships and technology.  Founders Society members are listed in the McDaniel College Honor Roll report each year and they receive special invitations to campus lectures and events.
