SELECTION OF SUMMER 2008 COURSE OFFERINGS
Grades and credits transfer. Upon approval, they may apply toward Basic Liberal Arts Requirements, major, minor, or electives. MULTI-COUNTRY/TRAVELING PROGRAMS (through AIFS):
Business and Politics in the European Union (4 weeks/3 credits)
Comprehensive introduction to the European Union for business and political science students. Dates: June 12 - July 9. Visit London, Brussels, Strasbourg, Prague, Paris, Berlin, and Frankfurt..
European Art and Architecture (4 weeks/3 credits)
Dates: June 22 - July 20
Visit London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lucerne, Venice, Florence, and Rome.
SPAIN (through API):
Intensive Language and Culture Programs (6-12 credits) in Barcelona, Salamanca, Seville, or Granada. For students at all language levels.
JAPAN (through IES):
Japanese Language and Culture Program (6 credits; in Tokyo) for beginners and intermediate students. Homestay with Japanese families. (June 5 to July 20)
GREECE (through College Year in Athens):
Land of Gods and Heroes—Greek Mythology in Greece (3 credits) Dates: June 15-July 4
LATIN AMERICA (through SIT):
Bolivia: Lens on Latin America (8 credits). Meet with prominent Bolivian artists /filmmakers and produce a video/ media project of a topic of your choice.Dates: mid-June to late July (7 weeks)
COSTA RICA (through ISA):
Spanish Language and Culture (various one-month programs in San Jose, with back-to-back program options; 6 credits) Dates vary
ARGENTINA (through Butler U.):
Summer Language and Culture Program-Buenos Aires (6-9 credits) Dates: early mid-June to late-July (6 weeks)
SWITZERLAND (through SIT):
International Studies, Organizations, & Social Justice (8 credits) Dates: early June to mid-late July (6wks)
FRANCE (through Syracuse U.):
Paris Noir: Literature, Art and Contemporary Life in Diaspora (6 credits): The seminar focuses on the literature, art, and contemporary life of African Americans in Paris during the 20th century. Dates: June 10-July 19
Internships with NGOs in London (6 credits): a 5-day/week internship in one of the many NGOs located in London; for political science, IR, history, & sociology students
ROME, ITALY (through IES):
Enroll in area studies courses taught in English or Italian in art history, political science, and cultural studies (6 credits) Dates: early June to mid-July
AUSTRALIA (through Arcadia U.):
Sydney Summer Internship (6 credits): A 6-week international internship program; you will spend 4 days/week at the internship site and a 5th day participating in a course designed to provide a cultural context for the internship experience. (June 13-August 3)
Creative Writing in Scotland (3 credits). Work alongside accomplished Scottish writers while enjoying the cultural and historical riches of Edinburgh, Scotland’s beautiful capital. (July 27-August 17)
IRELAND (through CEA):
Irish History and Heritage in Cork (6 credits): Irish study course Dates: early June-late July (4 weeks).
MEXICO (through Butler U.):
Culture and Language Program at Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan (6-9 credits). Dates: June 3to July 20
