Although a reprieve from books and exams, spring break kept the Green Terror athletes busy on the fields.
McDaniel baseball wrapped up March 17 an Arizona trip with a 7-13 loss to Roger Williams (R.I.). Kevin Salamone ’06 recorded his 100th career hit in the contest, while Troy Tipton ’09 hit two triples. The Green Terror managed only one victory on the trip, a 5-1 win over North Park (Ill.) on March 15. McDaniel baseball stands at 4-5 on the season.
The baseball squad takes on March 21 Catholic at home.
Green Terror softball left the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla., with a 7-3 record. The team dropped March 18 its last contest to Mt. Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) 2-4. The team rests at 7-7 in its spring campaign.
McDaniel softball travels March 22 to Hood in Frederick, Md.
Green Terror men’s golf defeated March 15 Westminster and Gettysburg at a three-team tournament at Deer Track in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Steve Perrone ’06 also took the individual title with a 77.
The team moves on March 28 to the Gettysburg Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa. The women’s and men’s teams both host April 1-2 competition at the McDaniel Spring Invitational in Gettysburg.
Green Terror women’s lacrosse lost two contests over spring break in West Palm Beach, Fla., a 7-8 March 14 defeat to Montclair State and a 7-8 March 16 loss to Skidmore. The team has started the season 0-4.
McDaniel women’s lacrosse opens March 21 Centennial competition versus Washington at home.
Green Terror men’s lacrosse lost March 16 its conference opener against Washington 7-8 in Chestertown, Md. Kolyn Kirby ’08 racked up two goals, while Brad Baer ’07, Steve Hoffman ’07, Chris Edmonds ’08, Matthew Buschman ’08 and Jared Nutter ’07 each contributed one apiece. The squad sits at 3-2, 0-1 in conference.
McDaniel men’s lacrosse faces March 25 Haverford in Haverford, Pa.
