As part of the McDaniel Budapest program, study abroad students have many opportunities to travel and learn about Hungary's location in the heart of Europe. Each semester the College organizes educational field trips within Hungary and to neighboring countries. There are group study tours to Prague/Vienna, Venice/Vienna, or Rome as well as trips to places in western or southern Hungary, such as Szentendre (a quaint artist colony) or Gödöllö, where Hungary's beloved queen "Sissi" had her palace.
These study trips are a required part of the Budapest program; they are structured as a mini-course ("Twentieth Century Grand Tour"), in which student participants will earn one semester credit.
