McDaniel College, in collaboration with Quest’s Wing Company, will offer summer camps in theatre and creative writing for deaf children in grades three to six.
Theatre Alive will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from June 26 – July 7 at McDaniel College. This camp will focus on theatre skills and developing material using creative movement, mime, gesture, and sign language while developing acting skills.
The second camp, Literacy Genre, will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from July 18 – 28 at McDaniel College. This camp will focus on an author and his or her style of writing. Campers will have the opportunity to develop writing skills in the style of their selected author.
For more information, call the Deaf Education Office at 410-857-2506 (vp/v/tty) and ask for Randi. The cost is $50 per session or $85 for both sessions. The deadline for registration is June 1, and a $15 late fee will be added after that date. Since the camp is an all day event, campers should bring their own snacks and lunch.
