McDaniel College

Baltimore
Just 30 miles east of McDaniel, Baltimore is a vibrant waterfront city, with all the amenities, including major businesses, museums, theatre, and nightlife.

Internships: Baltimore offers quality internships for all majors. Some examples: Johns Hopkins Hospital, The Baltimore Sun, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Maryland Legislature, and Northrop Grumman.

Theatre: From Shakespeare to improv, Baltimore is thick with great performances. The full list of theatres and theatre companies is impressive.

Fine Arts: Baltimore has its share of art galleries and venues—and, of course, several art museums.

Music: From live folk music and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, to dance clubs and piano bars, our neighboring city offers a satisfying range of musical indulgence.

And, of course, there’s Poe. He lived here and died here, and that’s why you’ll see lots of references (including the football team) to his famous poem, The Raven. He’s buried in the Westminster Cemetery and Catacombs, Baltimore's oldest cemetery; the monument in the cemetery was built by contributions from Baltimore's schoolchildren in the 1930s. Poe House, where he wrote his first horror story, is nearby.
