"Quake" is told in comic style but the overall theme of the award-winning play is poignant. It tells the story of Lucy, who is on a cross-country mission, looking for the love of her life. The journey takes her across the American landscape and through hilarious and eccentric relationships in which time and emotion pass in a warped instant.

"You might encounter the unexpected," said director Elizabeth van den Berg, assistant professor of Theatre Arts.

As Lucy searches for her dream man, she is distracted by an obsession with "That Woman," a notoriously brilliant serial-killer and astrophysicist. "That Woman" coaches Lucy as she zags across the continent and zigs through her many relationships as they cross state lines and fault-lines, exploring the geography of the human heart.
