McDaniel College

Education (Minor)

On this page:

Q. I think I want to minor in education. What courses should I take?
A. Since McDaniel College believes that classroom teachers need a strong and broad academic background, education candidates major in a content area and minor in education. PSY 1106, a requirement for the minor, is a good course to take initially. If you plan to minor in education, you should take either EDU 1111 in the fall or EDU 1141 in the spring of your first year on campus. It is important to meet with an academic department adviser to plan your course sequence. In your sophomore year, you will be assigned to an education department adviser who will continue to work with you to ensure that you take the courses necessary to meet state certification to teach.
