McDaniel College

Apply as a Non-Traditional Student
At McDaniel, we welcome older students returning to college after pursuing other goals. If you’re 24 or older, use this process.

Note that if you are a transfer student there are two possible deadlines: for the fall, April 1; and for the spring, December 15th. If you are a first-year college student, you must apply by February 1.

  1. Download and complete the non-traditional student application. A $50 nonrefundable fee is required and can be sent to the admissions office by mail with the application or under separate cover. We can’t process your application until we receive your payment.
  2. Forward your transcripts to the admissions office. For transfer students, this includes official transcripts from ALL colleges that you have attended; for students who are not transfers, this includes your high school transcripts.
  3. Submit your admissions essay. (optional)
  4. Learn how your credits will be transferred. If you submit the evaluation of transfer credit request form (PDF),  along with a copy of your college transcript(s), to the admissions office, we’ll let you know in advance how your college credits will transfer to McDaniel College.
  5. Explore financial assistance. Once we have your completed admission application, we’ll mail you an application for financial aid. In the meantime, you can begin planning: review the costs of attendance and the financial aid process.
