McDaniel College

Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs is here to help you explore the richness of an increasingly diverse society while you live, learn, work, and succeed on campus and beyond.  We offer many programs, activities, organizations and support systems to help ease your transition to college life and to prepare you for an ever-changing world.

The Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs (ODMA), functions under the administration of the Provost and the Office of Academic Affairs.  The mission of the ODMA is to provide visible leadership and direction for the College’s efforts on behalf of diversity and multiculturalism; offer programs and provide guidance and assistance, both academic and non-academic, to underrepresented students; support and coordinate student groups that serve the needs of diverse student populations; develop programs and services to promote diversity awareness and understanding within the larger campus community; and be a resource to students, faculty and staff in their efforts on behalf of diversity and multiculturalism.

Additionally, the ODMA enthusiastically supports McDaniel College’s First Principles which are to educate men and women in the liberal tradition to think and act critically, creatively, and humanely. We believe that this objective is best achieved in an academic and social community that is sustained through mutual respect, inclusion, self-reflection, and dialogue and that is collectively commitment to prepare students to lead in a multicultural world.
