McDaniel maintains nine residence halls and apartment complexes, including two halls set aside for
first-year students. All our residences are wired for cable, telephone, and the Internet.

Substance-Free Housing
Since 1996, McDaniel has offered this option for both first-year and upper-class students. Students who select this healthy lifestyle pledge to keep their area free of tobacco, illegal drugs, and alcohol. The College supports and encourages these students who make a conscious choice to live in a substance-free community.
Honors Housing
Students who qualify academically for the McDaniel College Honors Program, including first-year students, may elect to live in the Honors Affinity Suites. Each suite is a private living situation comprised of three to six single and double rooms located on a private corridor. Residents share a common lounge and two traditional private bathrooms. Laundry services are on the lower level.
Affinity Housing
Student organizationsmay apply for a limited number of Affinity Suites or Houses to live with peers with similar interests. Suites in Daniel MacLea and Albert Norman Ward halls are comprised of a common lounge area and three to six single and double rooms off a corridor. Residents share two traditional private bathrooms. Laundry services are on the lower level. Students may also be placed in college housing on Pennsylvania Avenue on the edge of campus, which are homes with private rooms, shared private bathrooms, and a common kitchen and lounge area.
Garden Apartments
For their junior and senior years, students may elect to apply for the Garden Apartments, shared apartment-style living with a common kitchen and living room. These residences offer independent living on campus. In turn, the North Village residential complex redefines College housing. These two-story buildings look more like country manor homes than apartments, with each six-person suite equipped with a large kitchen area, living room, and ample high-speed Internet access.
First Year Housing
All first-year students live on campus in single-sex halls. Men live in Rouzer Hall, women in Whiteford Hall. Amenities include laundry room, lounges, vending machines, and a TV/DVD unit located in a common area on the first floor. More…
