McDaniel maintains nine residence halls and apartment complexes, offering a range of living situations. All our residences are wired for cable, telephone, and the Internet, and all offer laundry facilities.

Cable Television
Cable services are provided to all residential students. You can purchase Coaxial cable at the Telecommunications Department. The cable network provides more than 70 stations, including A&E, ESPN, MTV, and several "superstations."
Furnishings
Residence-hall rooms are equipped with twin-size beds, desks with chairs, dressers, closets, and mirrors. Some have bookshelves. A micro-fridge unit is installed in each room. College furniture may not be removed from residence-hall rooms.
The College also provides a telephone in each room. Other phones (analog or digital) and answering machines will not work within the McDaniel College digital telephone system. PhoneMail is provided as an alternative to answering machines.
Recommended: pillow, blanket, clothes hangers, waste basket, linens (standard twins), towels/washcloths.
Permitted: clock/radio, desk lamp, stereo, TV, DVD player, hair dryer, computer, fan, hot pot, small vacuum cleaner, small refrigerator, iron, popcorn popper.
Prohibited: air conditioner, hot plate, halogen lamp, waterbed, firearm/weapon, fax machine, toaster/oven, pets (except fish in less-than-20-gallon tanks), microwave oven, portable heater, electric fry pan, refrigerator (except for the provided micro-fridge), other cooking appliances.

Beds: 18'' from floor (standard twin-size mattress)
We suggest that students carry the appropriate personal insurance. Some homeowner or rental policies may cover personal belongings while students are attending college. McDaniel College is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to personal property.
Laundry & Housekeeping
Each residence hall is equipped with Maytag Computer-Trac washers and dryers. Currently, washers and dryers cost $1 per load. All laundry rooms are equipped with debit-card readers.
You’re responsible for cleaning your own room. Housekeeping staff clean the common areas during the week.
Medical Considerations
On occasion, students have medical concerns that may require special room assignments and/or equipment. These requests must be evaluated and approved by the student-health-services staff. Special medical housing-request forms are available from Residence Life and must be completed by the student. Supporting documentation must also be obtained from the student's private physician regarding medical need. All information will be kept confidential. Although there is no guarantee, every attempt will be made to honor valid requests.

Telephones
Residence-hall bedrooms are equipped with a Rolm Phone 120. Service includes unlimited on-campus dialing and unlimited local calls in the Westminster calling area. All phones are equipped with PhoneMail, conference calling, station speed dialing, automatic redial, hold, transfer (on-campus only), and callback (on-campus only). Other telephones (analog or digital) and answering machines will not work within the McDaniel College digital telephone system. As an alternative to answering machines, PhoneMail is provided.
