Web Registration Process
Prior to your appointed registration time be sure you are able to access the Archway. You will use your McDaniel E-mail username and password to access your Archway account.
If you do not know your McDaniel E-mail username or password, send your full name and McDaniel ID number to help@mcdaniel.edu or call 410-871-3390 or extension 3390.
Each student is placed in a group depending on their anticipated degree date and whether they have completed a Jan Term. A group number has been assigned to you and will be emailed to your McDaniel email account indicating when you are able to begin your Jan Term registration.
Review the Jan Term course offerings and select the courses you are interested in taking.
To register for classes:

Login to Archway by entering your user name and password
- Select Student Menu
- Select Register for Classes
- Choose a Registration Option
- Once you have completed your registration, print your schedule, in case there are questions about your registration.
Web Registration Options
You can register for classes three ways in Archway:
- Search and Register for Sections. Use if:
- Search or browse through class offerings.
- Register for classes if it is your appointed time to register OR
- Place classes in a preferred section "basket" that you can return to at your appointed registration time. You will be able to register for the preferred sections that you selected previously, by choosing the "Register for Preferred Sections" option below at your appointed time.
- Express Registration
- Use this option if you know the exact subject, course number, and section (or synonym) of the sections for which you wish to add to your preferred list and then register. (Example: MATH*1001*01 or Synonym 12073).
- Register for Preferred Sections
- Use this option if you have already placed sections on your preferred list and would like to now register.
When using any of these options, please read and follow the directions on each page. If you need additional help, please click on the “HELP” button for additional information.
Note: You can register for the class on-line, however, if you would like the default grading method changed, you must come to the Registrar’s Office.Changes to
Special Registrations
The following registrations must be completed in the Registrar’s Office. You may complete these types of registration once your appointed registration time has started
- Instructor Permission
- If any of your choices require an instructor’s permission/interview, get the required signature before registration. Print a copy of the Registration Form available on-line or use an Add/Drop Form available in the Registrar’s Office. Obtain the instructor’s signature and bring the form to the Registrar’s Office for processing. You will not be able to use web registration to enroll in classes that require instructor permission. You cannot register for these courses without a required signature. A signature does not guarantee a space in the class; it is only a request for the class, based on your priority at registration.
- Independent Studies/Internships
- Students must complete an Independent Study or Internship Form, which may be obtained on-line under The Archway, Student Menu, Undergraduate Information. or from the Registrar’s Office. Completed forms are due in the Registrar’s Office by October 16th.
