Registration begins Sept. 25 for Jan Term, the College’s three-week session that explores uncommon subjects on campus, across the country and around the world.
For the first time this year, the College is offering a house-building excursion in the mountains of Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village, an examination of the intellectual enlightenment in London, and a study tour of China.
“I went to China 10 years ago,” says Professor of Theatre Ira Domser, who will lead the China trip. “I learned a lot about the culture and thought it would be good for students to learn, since it is emerging as a world power.”
Closer to home, students can explore conspiracy theories in “Who Killed Kennedy,” study the Korean martial art Hap Ki Do, or immerse themselves in Broadway theatre.
The concentrated classes are so popular that although only one is required, students often enroll in two or three Jan term courses during their college career. For a complete list, go to: http://www.mcdaniel.edu/janterm.
