Landscapes of Memory, Routes of Hope
Study Journey to Poland, Israel & Jordan

Beginning January 2 through January 23, 2008, McDaniel College and The Interpreters’ Forum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to peace through education and in residence on campus, will conduct Jan Term ’08 to Poland, Israel and Jordan.  This is the third consecutive year of this Jan Term and a first-time visit to Jordan.

Graduate and undergraduate students, alumni, faculty and members of the community at-large are invited to breakaway and join in this inspiring journey. 

The net estimated cost for McDaniel students is $3,100 which includes a $500 scholarship provided by The Interpreters’ Forum.  Breakfast & dinners are included.  Given availability, additional student scholarship assistance may be provided upon request.

The Jan Term is co-led by Ms. Lucia Goodhart and Dr. Emanuel (Manny) Goldman, Founder & President of The Interpreters’ Forum and Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies.

Krakow and Warsaw, Poland’s historic and contemporary capitals; country-side villages; commemorative visits to the Auschwitz–Birkenau and Majdanek concentration camps; Israel’s ancient and modern landscape; Jerusalem, The southern Negev desert and coastal vacation city, Eilat; northern Galilee and its historic Christian, Druze, Jewish and Moslem sites and sounds; the ancient archeological site in Petrah, Jordan; and so much more, promise to provide an excitingly different exploratory experience.

Three required preparatory & get-to-know one another sessions scheduled in October, November & December.
