Dean Sherri Lind Hughes

Sherri Lind Hughes was named dean of Graduate and Professional Studies in 2006. Since joining the McDaniel faculty in 1989, Dr. Hughes has served the College in a range of administrative capacities--as chair of the Psychology Department, as coordinator of the master's program in Human Resources Development (HRD) , as assistant dean of Graduate and Professional Studies, and as associate dean of Academic Affairs. With a wealth of experience in administration and teaching, she presents a familiar face to graduate students at all stages of their courses of study.

In 2002, Dr. Hughes was chosen to participate in the American Council of Education Fellows, a premier higher education leadership program, and worked at Marymount University (Va.) on projects ranging from student academic success to strategic planning with President James E. Bundschuh as her mentor.

She has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses with a specialty in industrial psychology, organizational behavior and psychological assessment. In 1997, she established the master's HRD program, employing a cohort model that conveniently cycles groups of students through a three-year course of study.

Dr. Hughes earned a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and both her master’s and doctorate from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
