Graduate study or careers in business, banking, education, and law are some of the options for McDaniel history students. The department offers more than 30 courses and seminars on topics ranging from the High Middle Ages to Russian History to the American Revolution.
Internships and independent studies allow students to work at local museums or historical societies, to research old buildings in the area, or to explore early American history at the many museums of Washington, D.C. The senior colloquium offers the student the opportunity to choose and focus on a specific historical question. Recent graduates have joined business and brokerage firms, enrolled in law and graduate studies, and begun military and government service.
Other educational options: dual majors in history/art history, history/English, history/foreign language, history/political science; secondary school certification (sociology or political science emphasis).
