Directed Studies
Directed Studies credit is given for a major project designed and executed by a senior, usually a theatre major. It is one of two options required for graduation; the other being a three-credit internship at a professional theatre. Directed Studies may comprise projects such as: directing a play; writing a play; design of scenery, costumes, or lighting for a play; dramaturgy for a play; performing a major role in a play; writing a major research paper, etc. Directed Studies require a formal proposal and a summary paper at minimum, and may require other submissions as deemed necessary by the faculty advisor. All Directed Studies projects require three credits, or a minimum of 117 hours of work.
