McDaniel College

It’s a Hit!
First-year students have no problem scoring an intriguing seminar class.

“Cap” Anson, Albert Spalding, Honus Wagner, Cal Ripken.  These are just some of the greats that baseball coach Dave Seibert discusses in his first-year seminar class America’s Game: Baseball.  For more than a decade, Seibert has taught the history of America’s favorite pastime. And during the class, Coach combines learning with fun when the class takes a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

But this is just one of the first-year seminar course options that students have.  McDaniel offers everything from Introduction to Business to Learning in a Diverse Society, with many choices in between.  The seminar is meant to help ease the transition phase from high school to college, so if baseball doesn’t appeal to you, don’t worry. Another class is sure to hit home.
