Tuition

The tuition rate for graduate courses is $325.  The tuition for a three-credit graduate course is $975.

Fees

Application fee: $50

Deaf Education program fee for American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI): $150

Deaf Education program fee on the English Proficiency Essay (EPE): $50

Tuition per credit hour: $300 through Summer 2008.  Beginning in Fall 2008, the per credit hour charge is $325.

Internships are billed at $325 / credit

Late registration fee: $35
Nonrefundable fee due when a student registers on or after the first day of classes

Comprehensive examination fee: $100
Fee for the comprehensive exam that eligible M.S. graduates take at the end of their programs 

Payment Options

You may pay by check, credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover), online, or on a monthly basis by applying for the appropriate Tuition Contract Payment Plan:

Payments should be made to the Bursar's Office, located in Elderdice Hall. If not on a payment plan, you must pay tuition in full prior to the first class session. An additional charge (late payment penalty) of $50 per month will be added if payment is not received in the Bursar's Office by the first class.

Refund Policy

All registration processing fees will be forfeited if a student withdraws at any point after the start of the course. The following refund policy will prevail for normal format courses and will be prorated for special format courses or workshops:

Financial Aid

Federal Stafford Loans are available for graduate degree-seeking students who are registered for at least six credit hours each semester. Graduate students from Maryland are encouraged to contact their Maryland State delegate and senator for available funding. More Graduate Financial Aid information ... 

A limited number of graduate assistantships are also available for full-time students. Assistants receive tuition remission in return for their work. Contact Ann Thomas, assistant to the Graduate Dean, for further details.

Veterans Administration Benefits: Veterans or their dependents who are eligible for veterans' educational benefits should contact the registrar's office for information regarding VA certification.

Applicants to the Deaf Education Program: special financial aid options are available to students applying to the Master of Science Degree in Deaf Education.
