Economics Types of programs: major and minor
Through a major, dual major, or minor in economics, students can tailor their course work to prepare for careers and graduate study in such fields as finance, business, economic analysis, government service, and foreign service. McDaniel's economics curriculum is demanding; it emphasizes mastery of basic economic principles and mathematical skills in courses that include Introduction to Political Economy, Principles of Economics, Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, International Economics, International Finance, Money and Financial Markets, Mangerial Economics, Economic Development, Industrial Organization and History of Economic Thought.
Graduates have earned M.B.A. degrees from schools that include Duke, Vanderbilt, U.C.L.A., and Columbia, and have been hired by such firms as The 3M Company, Dun & Bradstreet, Legg Mason, Westinghouse Information Services, and Mercantile Bank and Trust.
