McDaniel College is one of 30 four -year colleges and universities in the state of Maryland.  As a private college, McDaniel College is governed by a Board of Trustees with charters and bylaws. The initial teacher education minor program is approved by the Maryland State Deparmtnet of Education which also specifies certification requirements and the awarding of certification.
