Dr. Carpenter received his B.S. in Physical Education from West Virginia Wesleyan College, his master's degree in Education from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College, and his Ed.D. in Sport Psychology from West Virginia University.
With over 30 years at McDaniel College, Dr. Carpenter has guided the evolution of physical education and athletic programs throughout the years as professor, coach, and athletic director. His efforts have brought McDaniel College into competition at conference levels across the board and in league with such other top-notch institutions as Johns Hopkins University, Swarthmore, Haverford, and Bryn Mawr. This invaluable hands-on experience is enhanced by active interests and research into sports psychology.
