Meet the Coordinator

Herbert A. Phelps, Ed.D.
Dr. Phelps was named the coordinator of the Educational Administration Program at McDaniel College in 2007. An instructor at McDaniel for more than 30 years, he continues to oversee the Educational Administration internships for the College.

Phelps' career in public education spanned three decades, ultimately leading to the position of superintendent at Bermudian Springs School District in York Springs, PA. He also served as an assistant high school principal, middle school principal and assistant superintendent during his tenure at the district.

Phelps earned his doctorate from the College of Education at Temple University. He holds a master’s in Education from McDaniel and a B.S. in Mathematics from Waynesburg College. In 1994, he was named the recipient of McDaniel’s prestigious Joseph Bailer Award for his contributions to the field of education.
