Grasping the Good Life
Larry Wu
Professor of Philosophy, Tai Chi Instructor
Larry Wu
  • My favorite posture is Grasp the Bird’s Tail.
  • The bird’s tail in Tai Chi symbolizes your mind. Your mind is always moving, never at rest. It’s very hard to grasp the bird’s tail.
  • It has a great healing effect, both physically and mentally.
  • It’s not easy to get it right.
  • By teaching it, I understand it better. I learn along with the students.
  • Quite often the difference between success and failure is a matter of good or bad habit. Tai Chi is part of the good habit.
  • To have a good life, we should have a simple lifestyle, close to nature, and try to understand the natural law.
