James Lipchock ’04
Subhead: Chemistry and Physics Double Major, Future Yale Ph.D.

Between 10 and 16 hours of my day are devoted to chemistry and physics.
Chemistry is a whole new language. When you’re immersed in this world, spouting out all these terms, you don’t even realize that most people don’t talk that way.
My wife Sarah Vannoy ’04 is also a chemistry major. We were both accepted to Yale for our doctorates — luckily we both heard the same day.
Philosophy also appeals to me. In both philosophy and science, you can keep learning more and more, but you’re never going to really know everything.
To be called Dr. Lipchock will be an adjustment. But it has a nice ring to it.
