A thousand McDaniel students, faculty, and staff enjoyed the college’s annual Thanksgiving feast Nov. 16. This year’s meal included 420 pounds of turkey, 10 gallons of gravy, 275 pounds of ham, 120 pounds of stuffing, 300 pounds of mashed potatoes and 40 pounds of cranberry sauce.

“You have to figure out the logistics of how you’ll prepare all the food,” says Food Services’ Production Manager Ed Nichols. “It’s a symphony that builds to a crescendo of ham and turkey.”

A harbinger of the holiday season, the meal is eagerly anticipated and gives students a chance to reflect on the year gone by.

“I am thankful for the angels I have on earth, who move me in the right direction on my path to success,” says April Curley ’09. “I’m especially thankful for my five siblings, my mother, and my best friend Jennifer.”

Thanksgiving recess begins Nov. 21.
