Special Opportunities
EPE students have numerous opportunities to enhance their academic preparation.  Students may decide to serve an internship, conduct an independent study project, or conduct research with EPE faculty mentors.  Students interested in one of the allied health fields can join the Allied Health Club, which was founded by students in the EPE department in 2006.  Participation in the club can provide valuable leadership experience to students entering these competitive fields.  In honor of his longstanding contributions to the department, the EPE Department annually awards one student the Richard A. Clower Award for Academic Excellence in Exercise Science and Physical Education.  The department may also recognize one student as the National Assocation for Sport & Physical Education (NASPE) Major of the Year.  Outstanding EPE students may also be eligible to graduate with Departmental Honors, a designation that is recognized at graduation and on the students academic transcript.  The requirements for graduating with honors are listed here.
