Students completing the EPE Major must complete the following requirements:

Basic Major (39-43 HRS) (for students entering before Fall 2010)
EPE 1211 History & Philosophy of Physical Education & Sport
EPE 1245 Sport in American Society
EPE 2230 Biomechanics & Applied Anatomy
EPE 2223 Motor Development or
EPE 2240 Sport Behavior
EPE 3222 Physiology of Exercise
EPE 4492 Senior Capstone (1 credit)
Four EPE activities beyond basic activity requirements
BIO 1111 Principles of Biology I
BIO 2211 Human Physiology
CHE 1121 Essentials of General, Organic, & Biochemistry or
CHE 1101 Introductory Chemistry I: Structure & Bonding
CHE 1102 Introductory Chemistry II: Chemical Reactivity (recommended, not required)
PSY 1106 Introduction to Psychology

Elementary Methods in PE (EDU 3349) and Secondary Methods in PE (EDU 3348)*

4 Activity Competencies

Students must select two of the following five courses
Adapted Physical Education (EPE 2215) 4
Prevention & Care of Athletic Injuries (EPE 2225) 4
Exercise Testing & Prescription (EPE 2220) 4
Exercise and Chronic Disease (EPE 3224) 4
Biomechanics (EPE 3330) 4

* Students completing the minor in Physical Education are required to take Elementary Methods (EDU 3349) and Secondary Methods (EDU 3348) to fulfill the requirements of that particular minor.  Those two classes also satisfy part of the McDaniel Plan requirement for Writing in the Disciplines.  Students not in the Physical Education will satisfy the Writing in the Disciplines requirement by completing Writing in Exercise Science (EPE 3200).
