Although not a certification program, the minor in outdoor education provides an excellent background for avocational pursuits or for careers in camping and outdoor activities in the public and private sectors. Required course work includes independent study in Outdoor Education, Jan Term internship at Camp Hashawa, plus activities such as: rappelling, archery, riflery, canoeing, casting, orienteering, backpacking, kayaking, lifesaving, and games. Students interested in pursuing a minor in Outdoor Education should discuss their plans with their academic advisor. Students completing this minor must complete the following requirements:

EDU 2273 Outdoor Education Practicum (January Term) (2 credits)
