What is GT Job Connection?
An online database that houses internships, part-time and full-time job opportunities; a list of more than 100 McDaniel alumni willing to share information about their work and offer career guidance; on-campus interview schedules, and employer information.
How can I make contacts with professionals in my career field?
Alumni Career Network. Log onto GT Job Connection. If you don't have an account create one. Search the Mentor section of the database.
Where can I locate full-time and part time jobs?
GT Job Connection. Log on and create an account. We also provide additional links to other job search engines on our Job Search page.
How can I find out about internships?
GT Job Connection, links on our Internship section of our website, bulletin boards, and our electronic Internship databases.Links can be found on our home page, as well as, the Internship Website page.
I need to create a resume, what should I do?
Pick up a Resume Writing Guide from Career Services and browse our resume writing resources in the Career Resource Library. Attend a resume writing workshop or use the resume writing links provided on our website. The Resume Writing guide can also be downloaded from our Career Guides website page.
I need my resume critiqued, but my schedule doesn’t allow me to visit the office during office hours. What can I do?
Complete the Talk to a Career Counselor form and submit your resume electronically. Within 72 business hours, we will critique it and email it back to you.
I’m considering going to graduate school. What resource do you have that can help me?
You can use the graduate school information links on our website, which covers topics from admissions exams to paying for school. You can attend one of our workshops or browse through the graduate school files and catalogs in the Career Resource Library.
How can I prepare for an interview?
You could attend one of our workshops, use the interview tips links on our website, pick up the Interview Guide from Career Services, or browse our interviewing preparation resources in the Career Resource Library. You can also schedule a mock interview session with a career counselor. The Interview Guide can also be downloaded from our Career Guides website page.

How can I find out about careers in the field I have chosen?
Use the books in the Career Resource Library, the Explore Occupations and Industries links on our website and/or attend the What Can I do with My Major? COnnecting Majors to Jobs workshop.
I heard there’s a test that can tell me what I’d be good at. Is this true?
There’s no test that can tell you what you will and won’t be good at; however, to learn more about your interests, you can attend the Choosing a Major that Fits Your Interests workshop or schedule an appointment with a career counselor to take the Self Directed Search (SDS).
