Twelve students in Assistant Professor of Art and Art History Steven Pearson’s Advanced Studio course Dec. 12 presented their final work. Artist portfolios included paintings, drawings, sculpture, mixed media and digital work.

The course encourages students to develop their own style within any medium they choose.

“Students are encouraged to use whatever medium they feel best expresses their ideas,” says Pearson. “The concepts they pursue are open, and often influenced by classes they have taken as electives. This leads to many diverse approaches, which makes the course exciting to teach.”
