LTC Schumaker was commissioned into the regular Army on December 26^th  1985.  He has served in all echelons of Signal Support from Maneuver Battalion S-6, Division Signal, CORPS Signal, Echelon Above CORPS (EAC) and Joint Combatant Command. 

LTC Schumaker’s assignments include: Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer 97^th Signal Battalion Mannheim Germany 1986-1989; Signal Officer 2d Battalion 8^th U.S. Calvary 1^st Calvary Division, Fort Hood Texas 1990-1991; S-4 and Company B Commander 16^th Signal Battalion, Fort Hood Texas 1991-1994; Small Group Leader, Regimental Officer’s Academy, Fort Gordon Georgia 1994-1997; Office of Military Cooperation-Kuwait (OMC-K), Land Forces G-6 Advisor 1997-1998; DIVARTY S-6 and Battalion Executive Officer 123d Signal Battalion, 3d Infantry Division (Mech) Fort Stewart Georgia1999-2001; Operations Officer Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), CENTCOM Field Office MacDill Air Force Base 2001-2004, Commander 32^nd Signal Battalion Darmstadt Germany 2004-2007, Commander McDaniel College ROTC Battalion 2007- Present.

LTC Schumaker graduated from Stetson University in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and in 1999 earned a Masters degree in Telecommunication Management from Webster’s University in 1999.  His military education includes the Signal Officer’s Basic Course and Advanced Course, the Tactical S-3 Course and The Command and General Staff College and Airborne School.

LTC Schumaker’s military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal w/ OLC , the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal w/2 OLCs, the Joint Service Commendation Medal w/2 OLCs, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal w/2 OLCs, the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award w/ numeral 2, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and both the Saudi and Kuwaiti Liberation Medals.  His professional awards include the Bronze Order of Mercury and the Order of Saint Barbara.  LTC Schumaker is also an honorary member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, III CORPS Chapter.

LTC Schumaker is the father of three children Justin (21), Lauren (18) and Mark (12).
