1. Where will my money go?
You may choose how the College uses your gift. The campus campaign committee has identified four areas: student scholarships, faculty development, Annual Fund and building projects. These projects are priorities of the College but you are welcome to choose another area that is important to you.
2. I support the Annual Fund; isn’t that enough?
Gifts to the Annual Fund are gifts to The Campaign for McDaniel College. Your support of the Annual Fund is deeply appreciated. Your gift counts and is vital to the financial operation of the College. During a comprehensive campaign donors are often asked to consider increasing their annual support or to select an additional area of interest to fund. Regardless of your decision, your gift makes a difference to the students of McDaniel College.
3. Why does the College need my money?
In the fall of 2007, McDaniel College will publicly announce the second comprehensive campaign in its history. The Campaign for McDaniel College will provide the funding needed to meet the ambitious goals of its vision. These goals include: building the endowment through scholarships and academic funds, improvements through new construction as well as renovations, and growth in the Annual Fund.
4. How does my gift make a difference?
The campus campaign has two goals: one for contributions and another for participation. Your gift of any amount makes a difference. Potential donors as well as corporations and foundations notice campus participation when considering their own contributions. When a large percent of faculty and staff support their institution, it is a reflection of the community’s confidence in the College’s mission. Your gift sends a clear message to everyone that you believe in and support McDaniel’s mission.
5. What is payroll deduction, and how can I make that type of gift?
Many members of our McDaniel community utilize payroll deduction. A specified amount of money is taken out of your check each pay period and allotted to the area of your choice. The minimum amount for payroll deduction is $1 per pay period, which totals a $26 gift by the end of the year. In order to take advantage of payroll deduction, call the Office of Development on ext. 2250 or e-mail Kimberly Stevenson Parks at ksparks@mcdaniel.edu. Gifts may also be made by cash, check, credit card, gifts of securities and more.
6. When is my gift due?
Gifts may be made immediately or you may choose to make a pledge over a period of time. The College asks that all pledges be paid in full by June 30, 2010.
