Dr. McNichols' research generally centers around writing by and about women
and other marginalized figures (the indigenous, the African diaspora) in the
colonial period in Latin America. Her focus has been on mythology in the
writings of Mexican nun, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Recently she has been
studying best practices in international service/experiential learning, and
is in the process of establishing an experiential learning course to
Cuernavaca, Mexico, together with Professor Spence of the English
Department.
When she's not working, she can be found practicing and teaching yoga,
hiking, playing the guitar, cooking, reading or relaxing with family and
friends.
