Martine Motard-Noar

I have been working and publishing on contemporary French novelists, such as Hélène Cixous, Marie NDiaye, Sylvie Germain, Marguerite Duras, Pascal Quignard, and Sylvie Gracia. I recently published an article on writing and mourning in Cixous's and Derrida's work and another on fragment writing in Quignard's work. My second area of specialization is women's studies.

Due to my field of specialization, I tend to teach most classes dealing with modern and contemporary literature or topics. I have taught topics as varied as "Advanced Translation and Interpretation," "France & the European Union" or "Major Texts in 19th and 20th Century French Literature."

My hobbies include jogging, gardening, and cooking. I also work on an oil painting once in a while.
