My scholarly interests focus on the meanings and methods of collaborative practices while incorporating diverse cultural arenas and artistic traditions. I have worked in contemporary Southern Cone narrative and film, focusing my research on the interconnections between aesthetics and politics. At present, I am revising my dissertation as a book project on contemporary revisitings of the vanguardia by César Aira, Mario Bellatin, Roberto Bolaño, and Diamela Eltit. I am also working on a new research project that studies the aesthetic and political aspects of the composition, edition, and a publication of photo-texts in Mexico and the Southern Cone in the 20th and 21st-centuries. In particular, I am interested in how some authors/photographers combine writing, photography, and social commentary in the autobiographical mode.
In my spare time I enjoy taking photographs, making collages, and riding my bike.
