Junior Year and First Semester of Senior Year
1. Meet with your advisor and review your program evaluation requirements.
2. Make sure your majors, minors and specializations are correct.
3. Plan your Senior semester registrations, according to degree requirements.
4. If you need to change your anticipated completion date, contact the Registrar's Office.
5. Check your McDaniel email for graduation information.
Last Semester of Senior Year
1. Same instructions as above.
2. Commencement information will start to arrive from several campus offices, starting in early January.
3. Check to be sure you do not have any Personal Restrictions on your record. Go to The Archway, Log In and select Authorizations and Restrictions from the Student Menu. Look at Personal Restrictions.
4. Fill out an application for graduation via the Archway.

When will I receive my diploma?
August diplomas will be mailed in mid October. December diplomas will be mailed in late February. May diplomas are handed out at commencement or mailed the last week of May.
Does my major/minor/specialization appear on my diploma?
Your name and degree appear on the diploma. Majors/minors/specializations appear on your transcript.
Do Undergraduate students receive Latin Honors?
Latin Honors are recognized at graduation and recorded on the student's transcript.
How do I know if I am receiving departmental honors or a honor society recognition?
Contact the Department Chair to find out about this information and for information on receiving honor cords.
When should I start receiving information about graduation?
You should start receiving information about graduation several months before your anticipated completion date. Commencement information will start in the January before the appropriate May commencement date. Be sure to check your McDaniel email and commencement websites for this information.
Is there a practice ceremony for graduation?
We do not have a practice ceremony.
Do I wear my cap and gown to the Baccalaureate Service?
Undergraduate students should wear their cap, gown and hood.
Is there a ceremony for students who graduate in August and/or December?
August/December graduates can participate in the following May commencement ceremony. Please contact the Registrar's Office to make sure that you are on our list for participating in commencement.
Will I receive my diploma on graduation day?
May candidates will receive their diplomas on commencement day. August and December graduates that are participating in the commencement ceremony will have already received their diplomas via the mail. On commencement day, you will receive a diploma tube with a special congratulatory letter.
Can I request a duplicate diploma?
Requests for duplicate diplomas can be sent to the Registrar's Office. Include your name (as it appeared on your diploma), graduation date, and where you would like your diploma sent.
When and how will I receive tickets?
August/December graduates will be receiving ticket information early March. May graduates will provide ticket information on their application to graduate. Graduating students will not need a ticket, however, each guest attending must have a ticket, regardless of age. Tickets will be sent to your campus mailbox in early May.
How many tickets will I receive for guests? Can I receive additional tickets?
Each student, undergraduate and graduate, will be able to request up to five tickets for guests on their application to graduate. In addition, each student will be able to request one additional ticket. The additional ticket is not guaranteed.
