McDaniel College named Gina Rende King ’01 to the position of director of admissions, effective immediately. King has served as acting director since July 1, 2006.

“As a graduate of McDaniel herself, Gina knows the caliber of education the College provides,” says Florence Hines, vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions. “She is enthusiastic and dedicated to showing high school students across the country how McDaniel College changes lives.”

Gina began working for McDaniel in November, 2001, after a short stay in the Sales and Marketing Department of Tyco, International. During the past six years, she has created programs to recruit students who seek an outstanding liberal arts experience. She built and maintained a solid travel territory, including Colorado, California, Florida, New York City and its five boroughs as well as various parts of Maryland. She has actively served as recruitment liaison to several athletic teams as well as the private College's Honors Program and has witnessed continued success as McDaniel strives to become a better version of itself.

As director, Gina will be responsible for the daily operation of the Admissions Office, working directly with the vice president for enrollment management to plan and implement admission recruiting activities and manage the work of the admission counseling staff from goal-setting to actual implementation of the recruitment cycle.
