Students participate in Relay for Life

•McDaniel College’s third annual Relay for Life will take place April 27-28 at Bair Stadium. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 p.m. on April 27, followed by the luminaria ceremony at 9:30 p.m. Closing ceremonies begin at 8 a.m. on April 28.

•The McDaniel College Department of Music World Music Connection presents "Bellydance Hafla: Night of a Thousand Stars," an evening of Middle Eastern music and dance at 7 p.m. April 29 at the Carroll County Arts Council. Tickets cost $7 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Those 12 and under are admitted free. For more information, call 410-848-7272.

• “Hearing Voices (Speaking in Tongues),” a one-man play about schizophrenia by Michael Mack will be held at 7:15 p.m. April 29-May 1 in WMC Alumni Hall. Tickets cost $7.50 per person. Tickets are available at the door or by cal1ing 410-795-4363.

• The McDaniel College department of Music and the World Music Connection presents its mariachi band, Mariachi Sin Nombres, 9-11:30 p.m. May 5 at several downtown establishments. For more information, contact Bo Eckard at 410-857-2549.
The band includes McDaniel faculty members Bo Eckard and Peggy Ward, students Ember Fleming '09 and Keith Adams '10, as well as Carroll County College students and faculty members from Monocacy Middle and Westminster High. Beginning at 9 p.m., they will perform at Raphaels, Johanssons, Papa Joe's, Lilly's Mexican Market, the Pour House and Maggie's.

•A student solo recital at 7 p.m. May 1 in McDaniel Lounge.

•Jazz Night at 8 p.m. May 3 in Decker Center Forum.

•College Band concert at 7 p.m. May 4 in WMC Alumni Hall.

•Gospel Choir concert at 7:30 p.m. May 5 in (Big) Baker Memorial Chapel.
