Latisha Buford ’08 has been looking online to find an internship in the computer field, but had more success when she donned a crisp white button down shirt and met potential employers April 18 at the College’s spring job fair.
“Graduation is soon approaching,” Buford says. “I’m majoring in computer science and math, and have not had an internship yet.”
She got some encouraging words from Karen Delahanty ’97, who was recruiting for workers at Computertots, the franchise that she owns.
“I encourage students to talk to everybody here because you never know where life will lead you,” says Delahanty.
Exercise Science major Neal Stokes ’07 secured interviews with Bank of America and John Hancock. He was one of the more than 60 students who registered for the job fair, held in the newly renovated Decker Center Forum.
“The goal is to connect students with employers and employers with students,” says April Johnson, director of career advising. “This is a way to develop relationships.”
Career services helps students and alumni assess their talents, write resumes and find internships and jobs. The job fair is held each spring.
