
McDaniel College will hold Forensic Science Camp this summer during two one-week sessions. During the five-day camp, students participate in discussions, laboratories and field trips. The camp involves college-level material covering topics including:
- Crime scene investigation
- Blood analysis
- Analysis of hair and fibers
- Fingerprinting
- DNA analysis
- Ballistics analysis, and more
Staff
The camp is directed by Dr. Brian Wladkowski, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Dr. Jeff Marx, Associate Professor of Physics at McDaniel College.
Eligibility
Minimum eligibility requirements include having completed Chemistry I and Biology I courses. High school graduates are permitted to enroll.

Types of Enrollment
The camp fee is $425 for commuter campers and $675 for resident campers.
Resident Camper fees cover instruction, laboratory supplies, lodging (5 nights) and meals. A camp assistant will be on hand to help participants adjust to a college setting and living on campus.
Commuter Camper fees cover instruction, laboratory supplies, and lunch (5 days).
College Credit
McDaniel College awards one semester hour of academic credit to students who successfully complete the course.

Registration (form)
Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited and can only be secured by returning a registration form with appropriate fee as soon as possible. A cancelled check confirms acceptance into camp. An enrollment letter containing more detailed information will be sent prior to camp.
Deadline for registration is June 1, 2009.
On-site check-in for Resident Campers will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday June 28, for Session 1, and Sunday, July 12, for Session 2 in Eaton Hall main lobby. On-site check-in for Commuter Campers will take place at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 29 for Session 1, and Monday, July 13 for Session 2 in Eaton Hall Main Lobby. Camp will begin following Commuter Camper check-in.
Cancellation Policy
A $50 charge will be assessed to all cancellations. All cancellations must be verified at least two weeks before camp begins to receive partial refund. No refunds after this two-week period.
