McDaniel College

HomecomingComing home to the Hill and giving back
Thousands of alumni, parents, friends, and students bundled up Oct. 28-29 for McDaniel College 's annual Homecoming celebration.

The highlight of the weekend was the Saturday morning dedication of the Warfield Tennis Courts, a gift of Robert '62 and Peggy Hoey '63 Warfield. The McDaniel community joined President Joan Develin Coley in applause and appreciation for the Warfields' commitment to their alma mater.

Later on Saturday, tailgaters enjoyed everything from kielbasa to crabcakes – and warm beverages to fend off the chilly fall temperatures – as they cheered the Green Terror to near victory in the team's match with F&M.

Donald R. Rabush was honored as Alumnus of the Year during halftime. The award was given in recognition of Rabush's enthusiastic and abundant service to the College, service to his community, and prominence and distinction as an educator.

Six former Green Terror athletes were inducted into The Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame, sponsored by the McDaniel College Alumni Association. Jerry Borga '69, Sherry Albright Clower '94, MS '99, Susan Head Conklin '94, Richard Conner '84, Thomas Knieriem '82, and (posthumously) Samuel Reed '57 join 134 former athletes athletes who have acquired prominence in their chosen fields and who also have made contributions to society.
