• Sept. 12, the College presents “Die Grosse Stille/Le Grand Silence/Into Great Silence.” This unlikely film about the Grande Chartreuse, a monastery in the French Alps, packed cinemas all over Europe last year. The film is an austere, next to silent meditation on monastic life in a very pure form.
• Sept. 19, the College presents “Indigènes/Days of Glory.” The movie is about four North African men who enlist in the French army during WWII in order to liberate that country from Nazi oppression and to fight French discrimination.
• Sept 25, the College presents “Le Petit Lieutenant.” In this movie, a rookie policeman from provincial Le Havre volunteers for the high pressure Parisian homicide bureau and is assigned to a middle-aged female detective.
The McDaniel College Department of Art and Art History presents “This Land is Your Land[fill]: Artwork by Nadya Volicer,” Sept. 4-28 in the Esther Prangley Rice Gallery located in Peterson Hall.
