McDaniel College

McDaniel Prelaw
Law schools give preference to students with high academic achievement and backgrounds of broad cultural and social education. A student may major in any department. The best preparation is a broad liberal arts background that includes courses that strengthen your command of English; develop your ability to think clearly, concisely and logically; and increase your understanding of human institutions and values. The newly implemented McDaniel Plan provides prelaw students with all they need to be admitted to and excel in law school.

Hill Hall, home to the Political Science Department and Dr. Neal, the Prelaw Advisor.

Both the Law School Admission Council and the Council on the Section of Legal Education and Admissions of the American Bar Association advise against taking courses on a credit/fail basis if you intend to go to law school.

To begin or refresh your thinking about appropriate pre-law coursework, read the following prelaw pages, check out our links to the Law School Admission Council, the Online Prelaw Handbook, and Boston College Law School locator in the right hand column.
Make an appointment for prelaw advising with Dr. Charles Neal professor of Political Science and International Studies at (410) 857-2143 or email at cneal@mcdaniel.edu.
