Ralph Frith, class of 1984, has been named the national chair of the McDaniel College Annual Fund. Frith will work with volunteer leaders to advocate for greater support for their annual gifts that help fuel the College’s operating budget, including much needed need-based student scholarships.
“I am thrilled to enhance my involvement with the College through this new role,” says Frith. “My wife and I have made it a priority to give to the College and we have the satisfaction of knowing that our gifts change the lives of students on the Hill. Participation is the key as every gift counts and can help make a difference by supporting a student’s experience at McDaniel.”
This year’s Annual Fund goal is $1.6 million.
A native of the Bahamas, Frith is district manager with Spectrum Brands, Inc., a global consumer products company and leading supplier of batteries, lawn and garden care and personal care products. Frith, who directs a sales team in the mid-Atlantic region, has earned Spectrum’s (formerly known as Rayovac, Inc.) top U.S. sales award three times since 2004. He also volunteers for Kabob Build, building playgrounds in communities in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity, and Joe Gibbs Racing, a Christian-ministry outreach nonprofit. Since earning his B.A. in Sociology, Frith has served on numerous alumni programming and outreach committees. In spring 2007, he was elected to the Board of Trustees and will be recognized for his college service at the October Homecoming by the Alumni Association.
He is married to Char Wirts Frith ’84, and resides with their two children in Woodbine, Md.
