Molecular Biology is a track within the Biology Major

Required Courses:

BIO 1111 Principles of Biology I
BIO 1112 Principles of Biology II
CHE 1101 Introductory Chemistry I
CHE 1102 Introductory Chemistry II
CHE 2217 Organic Chemistry I
CHE 3321 Biochemistry I
BIO 2203 Genetics
BIO 3310 Cell Biology
BIO 2265 Molecular Biology (this course number will change)
BIO 3365 Genomics (this course number will change)
EITHER BIO 3301 Immunology OR BIO 3323 Developmental Biology
EITHER BIO 3309 Adv. Molecular Genetics OR BIO 3309 Adv. Human Genetics

In addition there is a distribution requirement.  At least one course must be taken from Groups 2-4 of the Basic Major courses.  Note that BIO 3311 and 3301 are group 2 courses, so either would satisfy this portion of the distribution requirement.

Finally, the capstone experience as part of the Biology major is required.
